Paper AirplaneArtist : Alison Krauss & Union Station

    Album: Paper Airplane

    Release Date: 12 April 2011

    Review:

Their come back have always been expected with impatience. And this album is not an exception, I would say it’s annoys me. The tone is set immediately with the sweet Paper Airplane then it was time for the very rhythmic Dust Bowl Children starring Dan, followed by the very melodious and sublime My Love Follows You Where You Go. On this one, the music mix and Alison’s voice are almost perfect. As you can see, it's good. If I find that Dimming Of The Day is a bit too slow for my taste, Dan amazes us on On The Outside Looking In and Bonita And Bill Butler. But where is Alison? we found her on the beautiful, Miles To Go. If I find that this album lack songs that stands out, tunes that we listen again and again, as we were used to in the past, this CD is a real success. It was a perfect blend between the musical talent of Union Station and Alison Krauss’s perfect voice. The album was produced by Alison and Union Station, recorded and mixed by the legendary Mike Shipley, that's how the sound quality is impeccable. So yes !, we necessarily love.

    Georgia ClayArtist: Josh Kelley

    Album: Georgia Clay

    Release Date: 22 March 2011

    Review:

Josh Kelley, Charles Kelley’s brother of Lady Antebellum release his first country album. If his brother helped him with the composition of two tracks, it’s clear that the results are rather mixed. From the start, we fall on the very country Georgia Clay, then we listen to some very pretty romantic ballads like A Real Good Try or Naleigh Moon. We find some rhythm on Rainin’ Whiskey and especially a more country sound with Great Idea. Aside from this, everything looks the same There is a lot of pop, and even if the CD is good, we feel something is missing. Everything is nice, good, but more will be needed to win in today country music world. Certainly it’s a nice surprise, but the album has trouble convincing. We just have to wait and see.

    The House RulesArtist: Christian Kane

    Album: The House Rules

    Release Date: 07 December 2010

    Review:

This album gave me the opportunity to discover Christian Kane, and what a discovery. He has a powerful voice that reminds me of Trace Adkins. Whatever the tempo, whether on country rock at the beginning, or soft ballads, he feels comfortable. He has a good vocal mastery, the vocal harmonies are very successful. He composed most of the songs and his sound has everything to wake you up. His producers are no other than the legendary Bob Ezrin and Jimmie Lee Sloas, he choose well. It starts strong for this artist and we want more. If you like a country rock style with some sweet romantic ballads, the album is for you. I especially enjoyed songs like Let's Take A Drive, or American Made Fast Car. Another artist to follow closely.

Bullets In The GunArtist: Toby Keith

    Album: Bullets In The Gun

    Release Date 05 October 2010

    Review:

I remain impressed by this album. Although I review here the deluxe version, all is surprising. this is Toby at his best. We forget the patriotic side and all that stuff for slower compositions but we are blown away. We find humor and above all he wrote the majority of his songs. He shows us his talent and musical level. The great Toby Keith. We love tracks like Somewhere Else, Kissin’ in the Rain. The deluxe version have 4 live extra tracks. A neat album that presents a new facet. But where is he going to stop ?. An invitation to dream. To consume without moderation.

The Quiet Times Of A Rock And Roll Farm BoyArtist: Big Kenny

Album: The Quiet Times Of A Rock And Roll Farm Boy

    Release Date: 10 November 2009

    Review:

After John Rich, it’s time for  his sidekick Big Kenny to release his solo album. And what about it?. A touch of madness, talent, energy, shake it all! And now you get this album. Look for no comparison, we talk about Big Kenny. Between the rhythmic Wake Up, Long After I'm Gone and the so typical Be Back Home, we said we’ll necessarily love the album. We love his honesty in To Find a Heart and the fact he has co-written all of these songs. Sure you have to love this madness but everything is pretty good, he surprised us pleasantly. We have a mix of electrical sound, bluegrass, ballads made in Big & Rich, in short it’s good. It's very well done. We end in style with Share the Love and his originality can be found on The Whole Experience, but for once I'd let you discover what it is.

    Essential Alison KraussArtist: Alison Krauss

    Album: Essential Alison Krauss

    Release Date: 21 July 2009

    Review:

Only two years after her previous A Hundred Miles Or More A Collection, Alison Krauss release a new compilation. Is it a simple update? Well no, this opus who have more tracks with Union Station than previous is a real treat. The CD is more successful, the composition come out perfectly. In addition we always find a  lot of sweetness. There are the eternal but so beautiful Let Me Touch You For a While; So Long, So Wrong and Every Time You Say Goodbye. The songs enchainment of Baby, Now That I've Found You; Sawing on the Strings; Restless then When You Say Nothing at All, is almost magical. I see no reason to not fall for this sublime opus, actually the album name is well chosen. You enjoy her music or want to discover her, so here are the basics!

A Hundred Miles Or More A CollectionArtist: Alison Krauss

Album: A Hundred Miles Or More A Collection

    Release Date: 03 April 2007

    Review:

This compilation is quite special because it brings together all her styles. Whether alone or with Union Station, you’ll find all on this CD. We like to find tracks like Sawing on the Strings and Down to the River to Pray. Her little Irish ballad on Molly Bán has its effect, but it's two very good duo that achieve me. Between Whiskey Lullaby with Brad Paisley and Missing You with John Waite, we enjoy this album. The whole is relatively sweet, quite fairly slow tempos and some mid tempos. So if you're a fan don’t hesitate. Otherwise I would have a tendency to choose her 2CD live, but it's just my opinion.

    Release Date: 10 May 2005

    Review:

Cracker Barrel is still at work for this compilation. This is their specialty and this time they choose Alison and Union Station. They resume their greatest hits, then we can discuss the choice of tracks but the mixture takes. It feels like magic in the air. Alison is there. Two years after her last album, this opus is good news for those who wish to discover or rediscover her. It Added a CD since their last best of, it’s like a musical update. So you we can’t miss her, she is very talented and has an angelic’s voice. Bluegrass fans will be delighted. Now the only thing left to do is to buy this opus which is only available at Cracker Barrel, and yes I know, but by now we are used to. Well for me it's done, now it's your turn ..

Lonely Runs Both WaysArtist: Alison Krauss

    Album: Lonely Runs Both Ways

    Release Date: 23 November 2004

    Review:

Never change a winning team. The same label, Alison Krauss & Union Station as a producer for this new album. Robert Lee Castleman found at the composition of some pieces. This great composers who worked for the best in country music comes to help. When you know the musical level of Union Station and the Alison’s voice, we can’t remain unmoved by this album. If I continue to prefer New Favorite album, Lonely Runs Both Ways presents a fresh version of their slow music that’ll please more than one. Between Restless, Goodbye Is All We Have and Alison’s angelic voice, we note that the CD is very much religious oriented. I know we talk about bluegrass, so it’s often a subject matter, but this is the main subject of a great majority of the songs. The whole thing is really successful. It must be said that the sweet mix of the band with Alison is known to work wonders. We love songs like Crazy As Me, My Poor Old Heart and Doesn't Have to Be This Way. But where we see all this collaboration knowledge, their great level, is at the end of the album. We end with a flourish as transcended by two tracks that are sublime. Transported somewhere thanks to beautiful melodies and lyrics. If I Didn't Know Any Better and A Living Prayer are sublime. So we love this album and one wonders where they'll find all this talent.

    LiveArtist: Alison Krauss

    Album: Live

    Release Date: 05 November 2002

    Review:

We had dreams, Alison Krauss & Union Station Live, well it's done. In addition when one realizes that it’s a double CD, we are excited to see what happens. I must say that it was worth it. It’s a real treat and a pure masterpiece. The first CD is turned to Alison with tracks like Let Me Touch You for A While; Baby, Now That I've Found You and Every Time You Say Goodbye. We become aware of their musical mastery on Choctaw Hayride, and Union Station performs perfectly Bright Sunny South and Faraway Land. One might say that we are at this point already filled, but it was just the first CD. The second is more turned towards Union Station as a  band with a beautiful dobro solo on A Tribute to Peador O'Donnell / Monkey Let the Hogs Out and the splendid I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow. We remain in the register of the O’Brother’s movie with The Boy Who Would not Hoe Corn who is a treat. That's when Alison returns with the highly successful When You Say Nothing at All; Oh, Atlanta. One wonders if it's over and no, when we believe to have reached  the end, it falls on their encore with two tracks that are just as successful as the previous: Down to the River to Pray and There Is a Reason. A box not to be missed, as it’s an excellent bluegrass album. I remain impressed with such quality.

    New FavoriteArtist: Alison Krauss

    Album: New Favorite

    Release Date: 14 August 2001

    Review:

After his previous Forget About It which was well named, this one is going to become my favorite. I am impressed with this new album. The difference is obvious. From the start we remain stuck with Let Me Touch You for Awhile, then hits come out of nowhere. It makes you wonder if this is a compilation. Between The Boy Who Wouldn't Hoe Corn, The Lucky One, and her angelic voice, Choctaw Hayride which is sublime musically... We don’t know which way to look. It’s a real treat. You just have to listen to Crazy Faith to see the difference with her previous album. I also loved Bright Sunny South and we end in style with the New Favorite gem. Here is my favorite Alison Krauss album yet. A perfect alchemy between a singer with a sublime voice and some awesome musicians. Musically there is nothing wrong and the vocal harmonies are gorgeous. What more could we want?. Flawless. Recommended.

    Forget About ItArtist: Alison Krauss

    Album: Forget About It

    Release Date: 03 August 1999

    Review:

If there is a bluegrass singer who is breathtaking, it’s Alison Krauss. Her association with the Union Station  fits perfectly. And it’s clear that this time, it miss some beat, like Stay for example. I almost fell asleep, other compositions are nice but it's just good. Her voice is soft and for once this plays tricks on her. Too slow, we expect a fiddle or banjo but no nothing works. We still talk about good music but I find it too linear. The melodies are more or less alike, it's a shame. We find pretty vocal harmonies, but one wonders why there is no more rhythm. Aside from Could You Lie, the rest is just good, not great. One feels a sharp decline compared with her previous album, even her angelic voice can’t do anything.

Now That I've Found YouArtist: Alison Krauss

Album: Now That I've Found You

    Release Date: 07 February 1995

    Review:

The album is a collection of Alison Krauss compositions, some registered with Union Station, but also with The Cox Family. In addition she gives us a few new ... Not bad you might say, I confirm indeed. If you still escaped her spell, then this album is such an elixir. Unable to escape, the atmosphere is almost magical. Her voice, her presence is amazing. She enchants us on sublime compositions such as Baby, Now That I've Found You and Every Time You Say Goodbye or When God Dips His Pen of Love in My Heart. This singer doesn’t have a nice voice, she has one of the most beautiful voice in country music. So when you fall on tracks like or I Will or In The Palm Of Your Hand, we love it. But with When You Say Nothing at All she achieves us. This album is a marvel, don’t miss it for the world.

    Release Date: 1994

    Review:

Imagine the best of bluegrass. Gather Alison Krauss and The Cox Family, you get a very good album. No surprise, happiness. Very little to say, except that this is an album to own if you are a fans of this kind of country. My favorite Will There Be Any Stars, I Know Who Holds Tomorrow, Everybody Wants to Go to Heaven. Vocal harmonies are perfect, musically nothing wrong. Anyway, we begin to know Alison, it’s impossible to be disappointed. The small religious side goes perfectly, it’s a pleasure to listen to this album. If you could only listen to one composition, listen: The Palm of Your Hand, and you'll dream.

    Review:

Their combination have always produced great music, high quality bluegrass. This album is no exception to the rule. The vocal harmonies are very neat and musically there's no waste. We love tricks like Every Time You Say Goodbye, It Won't Work This Time. But it’s on Heartstrings where Alison’s voice is almost angelic, one becomes addicted to these compositions. Then they achieve us with I Don't Know Why. Bluegrass fans will enjoy it, other’ll pass, although I wonder why deprive yourself of good music. Get ready for more than 40 minutes of relaxation with the best bluegrass.

I've Got That Old FeelingArtist: Alison Krauss

Album: I've Got That Old Feeling

    Release Date: 01 July 2001

    Review:

The album presents Alison Krauss’s beginning but with a rather high musical level. Nevertheless, I denote a small decline from her previous solo. By this I mean without Union Station. There is a small loss of rhythm with the compositions, even if the whole is very soft. She begins to engage in rather slow tempos see mids tempos, but that's about all. Her beautiful voice and softness are enjoyable to listen. It’s rather interesting to see her evolution. The music level is quite high, and we can only fall under her spell with Dark Skies or Endless Highway. This is a very good bluegrass album. Certainly this is not her best, but she still deserves our attention, in order to spend a good half an hour in her so talented company.

    Two HighwaysArtist: Alison Krauss

    Album: Two Highways

    Review:

The first Alison Krauss and Union Station’s album. A collaboration that we stil keep talking about it now. Discover the origins of this magical union, which for me greatly changed the image of bluegrass for a lot of people. Between a very good musical level and a sublime voice, one can only melt. This album shows us a nice start, but already very promising. My preference for this CD is turn to tracks like Two Highways and Heaven's Bright Shore. I invite the bluegrass fans to purchase this album, as well as Alison’s fans. It’s true that if you like more new country, go your way, although I still find it a shame to miss such a collaboration. But then there are always multiple paths or at least in this case Two Highways.

    Album: Too Late To Cry

    Release Date: 1987

    Review:

This second album shows us an artist who even then could impose her voice. No need to Union Station, this album shows rhythmic compositions and some others softer. If you are fans of this singer, it will be a good opportunity to see the first part of her career. My favorite song in this album is Too Late to Cry, which to me shows what Alison can do. Quite a versatile singer even if she sings in a bluegrass style. Behind this, she has one of the most beautiful voice in country music, then it would be really stupid to miss this artist. You’ll discover a different side of our talented Alison, and this is a nice option.

A Pretty Good GuyArtist: Chris Knight

    Album: A Pretty Good Guy

    Release Date: 11 September 2001

    Review:

His style is a country on the verge of depression. So yes if it can make some people smile, I'm not kidding. But be careful I didn’t say it was not good music. Because once you listen to hits like Becky's Bible, Oil Patch Town, I say that this singer has talent. You just take the time to carefully listen and not be on antidepressants. He’s both sad but realistic about the world, his view is very surprising. His texts are moving on Send A Boat, Down The River. If I Were You showed us an incredible relevance, see disturbing. Blame Me is very well written and like all his compositions, require us to listen carefully to the end. You never know what to expect with such a character and that's what makes it beautiful. It’s the mark of the talented artists. So yes, you have to listen carefully, be touched by his music. This isn’t what‘ll make him the most popular, but I don’t think that's what he wants. Chris is simply himself.

    Album: Chris Knight

    Release Date: 10 February 1998

    Review:

Chris is one of those artists that we discover and we love or not love at all. There is no half way, it’s just like that. You just need to listen to his Framed and we find everything that makes his charm. A powerful but different sound. Words that surprise you with their percussion. Everything is very carefully worked. He always manages to surprise us, we don’t expect a register as Something Changed, yet it’s one of his best songs in the album. We like compositions such as House & 90 Acres, Run From Your Memory, Love and .45 where we find his so unique side. The River's Own and William are little gems. It's hard to explain, call it Americana, a country that comes from the heart, not that the other artists lie, but sometimes he affects us as rarely other singers are capable of. Please note we like it or not. Anyway I had a big crush for this album and I can’t praise it highly enough.

    Review:

We still find the artist and his particular style. This time I notice a little decline from his previous two excellent albums. This sis still a good album, don’t worry, but I think it’s more for his fans than novices. We like Banging Away, Me and This Road and Long Black Highway that remember me of what we can heard on his A Pretty Good Guy. A raw sound, true, it’s what emerges, in short an album as we like them. Fans won’t be disappointed, what made his success or rather his charm is present, as on Broken Plow. A broken voice, a sad but real music, here is Chris Knight.

Yet the quality is always there and his broken voice and touching lyrics are always present. We love tracks like Cry Lonely, Rural Road. This is a good opportunity to discover or rediscover a unique artist. His talent is great and yet he isn’t one of the most popular. His rather raw style is probably for something. Review:

After so many years, a lot of albums, eight years after his last compilation, we were entitled to expect a new one. And here I must confess that this is happiness. Fourteen tracks that keep coming in a sublime way. You’ll be moved by a lot of emotions, sad and happy at the same time. Is it magic? not at all, this talented songwriter is in charge. Between songs like Small Town Saturday Night, I Know Where Love Lives, we begins to dream. Then we have the gorgeous and warm ballad Past The Point Of Rescue, Someplace Far Away’s lyrics leave me speechless. I could give you every song, I can’t resist, there are two more, : Hang In There Superman, Hearts Are Gonna Roll. If you want to discover this artist or just listen to some good country, a music from the heart and that’ll inspire you to travel, to dream; so don’t deprive yourself of this masterpiece. I know it’s indeed a compilation, it doesn’t contribute to the artist's discography, but it's so good, I can’t resist.

I was always a little apprehensive listening to the new Toby Keith, I said to myself: Will I be disappointed?. And it’s clear that with this new vintage, this won’t be the case. It’s impossible to describe what it feels like to listen to this album. We have Mr Keith at his best. Indeed all tracks are very successful, it's crazy. We remain impressed by so much talent, expertise. We knew he was a successful businessman but he hasn’t lost his musical talent. I even come to wonder where he gets such energy. For this album  is a very strong one. Whether you are a fan or want to discover this artist, look no excuse, the album is for you. Powerful sound, relaxing, in short Toby's trademark multiplied by 4. Honkytonk UniversityArtist: Toby Keith

    Album: Honkytonk University

    Release Date: 17 May 2005

    Review:

After a start like Waylon Jennings with Honkytonk U, Toby delivers us hits with As Good as I Once Was and She Ain't Hooked on Me No More duet with Merle Haggard. From here we can only think well of the opus. We find the artist's humor about Just the Guy to Do It and pretty melodies with Big Blue Note and knock yourself out. Everything is strangely similar, it’s not in his usual, but the quality is good, so we're not going to complain. He always surrounded by his two friends Scotty Emerick and Chuck Cannon and produced an album, which like his previous one, is very good. After one feels a little behind, but good it was hard to do better and especially at such a pace. He shows us a new side, anyway this artist is still talented. We can feel him soothing, more mature. He loses his macho, patriotic side, being reprimanded. Perhaps as the tracks Good as I Once Was, time passed by. Treat yourself by going to the university.

    Review:

After a very good best of, the labels war rages. For our part, it doesn’t bother us because this album is the best compilation of the artist that I have ever listened to date. A real treat with this time, only our new Toby. He just started where he left us with his number 1, we just stayed glued to the track list. It’s true that this kind of CD brings nothing, except that if you want to discover Toby Keith or make you a gift as a fan, go for it! . Don’t look for waste, there are none, normal for a compilation. We find Willie Nelson, Krystall (his daughter) on Mockingbird, the list is impressive. So this album is to prescribe to the greatest number of people. We particularly like Courtesy of the Red, White, & Blue (The Angry American), after so much controversy, it was imperative to recognize the talent. It even ends with some live songs versions of Should've Been A Cowboy, In short, what could we ask for more?, a third volume?. Unleashed & be ready!

If you need a CD making you discover this artist, don’t look anymore, you have found it. Taking the majority of these hits from the first part of his career, this opus is a pretty good job. I can’t stop listening it over and over again. So do not hesitate between the latter and the previous Greatest Hits Volume 1, the two aren’t comparable. This best of perfectly takes his best just for our happiness. A perfect blend of romantic ballads and rhythmic tracks. His trademark is condensed in this album. To listen without moderation.

    Shock'n y'allArtist: Toby Keith

    Album: Shock'n y'all

    Release Date: 04 November 2003

    Review:

The album starts strong but then very strong, with the sequence of three songs that alone are worth the purchase of this CD: I Love This Bar, Whiskey Girl, American Soldier. One finds him writing with and his two companions: Scotty Emerick and Chuck Cannon. The first sing in both 'Bus Songs "which are also very beautiful. In short he did better than expected, it’s a very good job. We fell a small setback after the first tracks and compare to his previous album, but this is really good. It's pretty impressive to see how easy this singer can give us so many good albums in so little time. Pull my chainArtist: Toby Keith

    Album: Pull my chain

    Release Date: 28 August 2001

    Review:

After his very good precedent How do you like me now, Toby is back in shape with Pull my chain. This Oklahoma native always manages to make a mix of testosterone and feelings. Enough to satisfy everyone. I haven’t say it enough, but this artist has co-written the majority of these texts, which is pretty impressive when you see the richness of this album. Between romantic ballads and powerful tracks, he amazes us. It was worth the money. So far this is his best album. We start very hard with I'm Just Talkin' About Tonight and I Wanna Talk About Me. The are sublime. But that’s just the beginning, and then the gems keep coming as if he enjoyed making a necklace. I Can't Take You Anywhere, You Leave Me Weak, The Sha La La Song are going to achieve more than one. He returns with a powerful sound on Pick 'Em Up and Lay' Em Down and Forever Hasn't Got Here Yet. An album filled with emotion as usual, but there he pushes the limits. Between a track dedicated to his deceased father and the song My List, the opus is charged. We end on the fast lane with the mind-blowing Gimme 8 Seconds. We would usually love to have more albums with such variety, richness and quality.

How do you like me nowArtist: Toby Keith

Album: How do you like me now

    Release Date: 02 November 1999

    Review:

Ok this is such an approbate name for this album. This opus is a bit of a rebirth for the artist, we feel him freer than before and wow. Between the excellent How Do You Like Me Now?!, The beautiful ballad When Love Fades, it’s a treat. But this is not the end, with the very slow but so good Blue Bedroom, the a powerful sound that overturn us with the compositions: Country Comes to Town and You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This. Okay, the last one is a little less rhythmic but its catchy and shows Toby’s voice. Finally an album that shows his potential, and what a change compared with his previous CD. We love and we want more, here is a very good opus, so enjoy!. Now the question is what’ll you answer to: How do you like me now? For my part I like.

Greatest Hits Volume 1Artist: Toby Keith

    Album: Greatest Hits Volume 1

    Release Date: 20 October 1998

    Review:

This Greatest Hits Volume 1 is a good opportunity for all his fans to return to the beginning of his career. In fact this album includes the hits of these first four albums. But Toby doesn’t stop there, he adds two new songs Getcha Some and If a Man Answers. Aimed primarily at his fans, the early career of this artist presents a rather different style of what we used to have these days. However, some tracks are really successful as Should've Been a Cowboy and Dream Walkin. So if you don’t want to purchase the first CDs, why not fall for this one?.

    Dream walkin'Artist: Toby Keith

    Album: Dream walkin'

    Release Date: 24 June 1997

    Review:

With this album we feel that Toby has raised the bar. We find his voice, much more beat. Is he freer ?. In any case we feel a net increase in the quality of the compositions compared to previous albums. We love ballads who can take advantage of his powerful voice as We Were in Love and Dream Walkin. Concerning the rhythms, it’s with the beautiful Jacky Don Tucker (Play by the Rules Miss All The Fun) and Double Wide Paradise that we’ll find our Toby from his beginning. A more matures album. We even have the surprise to find a rather successful duo with Sting on I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying. And yes, Sting chose Toby for his single passage in the country world, we can’t blame his choices. A very good CD, which’ll put him on the charts and shows that he can do much better. For all good country fans.

    Blue moonArtist: Toby Keith

    Album: Blue moon

    Release Date: 16 April 1996

    Review:

After her first two albums, I must admit that I am quite disappointed by this third one. Certainly it’s filled with ballads that are beautiful but they aren’t superb. Aside from A Woman's Touch, it seems that everything looks the same, a shame for such an artist. So if you are a fan like me, you’ll be satisfied but still. This is not the CD that I would recommend to discover him. But if you like this singer, although you can do without this album, it's not bad, just good, that's all. It's a shame. We deplore a real lack of beat, we don’t fall asleep, but we play a little to much the romantic side. We don’t really know where we are going, or if we go somewhere.

    Christmas to ChristmasArtist: Toby Keith

    Album: Christmas to Christmas

    Release Date: 17 October 1995

    Review:

Toby Keith doesn’t do things like others. The album includes many good things, such as the collaboration of a certain Keith Urban, but especially the ambiance of the album is magic. Far from merely restate the Christmas songs like most other artists, this album shows a less commercial side, more religious if one can say. He is concerned with the homeless in the touching Santa, I'm Right Here and displays an anti commercialism in Jesus Gets Jealous of Santa Claus. While not the most successful, this CD is quite original to be part of your discotheque. If I prefer his second Christmas album, this one is shifted, in short it’s a good Christmas album.

    BoomtownArtist: Toby Keith

    Album: Boomtown

    Release Date: 27 September 1994

    Review:

Hmm, I sometimes wonder why the record companies don’t allow more freedom to their artist. This album is a good example. Toby proposes us only a few of his own compositions, and he is such a talented composer. Furthermore we feel a marked change from his previous album and this is not a good thing. We lost something, rhythm, songs are quite flat, but not bad, they are just good. It’s clear that the producers have tried with Upstairs Downtown to use his voice but without really any convincing result. Aside from a few tricks like Who's That Man, Big Ol 'Truck, there isn’t much to it. A small disappointment after his excellent start but good when you know his musical journey, we are reassured. If you are a fan, you can try. If you want to discover him, there are so many other great albums of this artist.

    Toby KeithArtist: Toby Keith

    Album: Toby Keith

    Release Date: 20 April 1993

    Review:

We can say that it was a surprise to receive his first album. Far from his current style, country rock ?, release in the early 90s, that's what you get. For that alone I advice it to all fans. After there is nothing transcendent but I admit that I enjoyed it. The beginning is really good with some sublime tricks like Should've Been a Cowboy and He Ain't Worth Missing. Then we begin to dance to Under The Fall, Wish I Didn't Know Now and Valentine. To me I find a loss of power that happened near the end of the album. In any case, without being the best album ever, it’s a good opportunity to meet the singer. And he wrote almost the  majority of the songs, with the exception of A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action and Some Kinda Good Kinda Hold on Me. Author- songwriter, and yes even then.

    Lucky ManArtist: Hal Ketchum

    Album: Lucky Man

    Release Date: 04 September 2001

    Review:

Hal Ketchum is one of those talented composers and this album is a very good example. His ability to tell us  stories and putting them into a melody is incredible. One begins to tap your feet on Livin 'Life Lovin' You. The ladies will be under his spell with the romantic (She's Something) You're Everything. We have the right to a real display of talent. My preference is for You Can't Go Back who is so American ( to a french point of view), this so typical, you must listen to understand. If in addition we add a duet with Dolly Parton (Two of the Lucky Ones), and a second with Lisa Brokop (Keep in Love Mom & Dad), the album is really good. This CD is no exception to the rule by showing us a great Hal Ketchum. His strength lies in his freedom to compose what he feels, making fun of the rules, writing his texts. It’s up to us to listen.

    Somewhere In Time

    Artist: Reckless Kelly

    Album: Somewhere In Time

    Release Date: 9 February 2010

    Review:

This band from Austin, Texas offers us a country called "alternative", Americana, with a mixture of Texas music, which is not unpleasant. While the majority of tracks mix electric guitars and violins, the lyrics are pretty harsh, we feel a lot of sadness and experiences. The whole album is good and offers some very good track like The Ballad Of Elano Deleon, Bird On A Wire, Pure Quill, Somewhere In Time. Now this style’ll not please everyone and that’s not the best country music, the album is nice. After saying that we’ll listen it in loop, I doubt it. Nevertheless it’s worth listening to, so if you want to discover a style a bit different, leaving the beaten paths of Nashville, the CD is for you, otherwise I invite you to go your way.

    American Ride

    Artist: Toby Keith

    Album: American Ride

    Release Date: 31 August 2009

    Review:

The release of a new Toby Keith is always an event,  an issue that cause rivers of ink to flow. If one is stuck from the start by his first two tracks, the atmosphere tends to go down significantly. However, this doesn't mean that the album is bad, the tracks are always well written and performed by the master, but we know he can do better. We are still happy to find this album because the style is quite rhythmic, a powerful sound with electric guitars. In short, a very nice opus, it's just that when we think of Toby Keith, we talk about perfection, American Ride is a CD to obtain and play on your sound system, but it’s not his best album.

That Dont Make Me A Bad Guy

    Artist: Toby Keith

Album: That Dont Make Me A Bad Guy

    Release Date: 28 October 2008

    Review:

Toby Keith is just a necessary step in country music, what's not to like. He can sing almost any style not only in country, but in the crooner style or blues, he knows everything. His movies are beautiful, his writing talent isn’t less so as does an album of the artist, it’s always with a twinge of heart that the pocket is opened. Like last year, the new thought is once again successful. We falls under the album’s spell with tracks like God Love Her, Missing Me Some You (so much blues), Hurt A Lot Worse When You Go, You Already Love Me. In short a strong comeback or rather a confirmation for that singer who never ceases to amaze us, or rather to delight us with these compositions.

    Album: Better Dreams

    Release Date: 22 January 2008

    Review:

This is the first album of this so much rich and diverse band, that's the least we can say. There is quite a mix , some oriental music, bluegrass, some New Country, the concept is original. If the group is engaged in their texts, some tracks hit the target like I Found A Road, Give Me Back My Country, American Wish. After you have to like this mix but for a first album it's a good surprise, their music is sweet and catchy, it exudes a feeling of relaxing freshness.

    Heart of Stone

    Artist: Chris Knight

    Album: Heart Of  Stone

    Release Date: 19 August 2008

    Review:

If he is often compared to artists like Steve Earle or Johnny Cash, Chris has always delivered us a good country music, but there he exceeded. This album’ll immerse you in an America that so often seems distant but so true. Tracks like Hell Ain't Half Full, Something To Keep Me Going, Maria, Go On Home are really  good. Cet album liberates a whatever, something that makes you listen and listen again. If I knew he was capable of writing hits for artists like Montgomery Gentry, Blake Shelton, I had forgotten that he has nothing to envy.

    A Classic Christmas

    Artist: Toby Keith

    Album: Classic Christmas. 2 cd

    Release Date: 16 October 2007

    Review:

I never got to find a Christmas song compilation that brings together all the great classics and that is truly exceptional, now it's done. And yes, in fact I was just waiting for Toby Keith to passes by. This album is pure fun time, an atmosphere of joy and sharing takes you, all for Christmas. What a gift he makes us, Toby is one of its country monuments, once discovered we can’t do without him and his immense talent. We can only love his interpretations of Little Drummer Boy, Silent Night, We Three Kings, Joy To The World and especially Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow, which is as beautiful as Frank Sinatra’s. This is such a great album. His bluegrass interpretation, and not like a crooner like it’s often the case, combined with his near perfect voice makes a reference album for the year-end purchases. A 2 CD compilation not to be missed!

    Double Wide

    Artist: Uncle Kracker

    Album: Double Wide

    Release Date: 13 June 2000

    Review:

Here is a country singer who likes to mix genres. He's the Kid Rock’s DJ so obviously he doesn’t deliver us some pure Country. The problem may be coming from there, because aside from 3 tracks that are really beautiful and country, Follow me, heaven (funny parody of If heaven ain't a lot like Dixie but with Detroit), Yeah (to the glory of the American Cowboys). If country music is extremely varied, all mix aren’t good, the artist needs to focus on country music because he has a good potential.

    Review:

So then I have to admit that I am impressed. If at first I wasn’t motivated to listen to the CD, I must say that I very rarely appreciate soundtracks but I was thinking without Toby Keith. If all his tracks are successful, he allows us to discover some news artists, such as: Lindsey Haun, the group Flynnville Train, Sonya Isaacs. These artists leave you speechless, actually no it's the album. Musically it’s very successful and it’s especially incredibly rich and varied. Here is an opus to obtain and to listen urgently after that you just have to watch the movie.

    Album: Unleashed

    Release Date: 23 July 2003

    Review:

This is a great album that is perfect in every way. And I am sincerely objective, the album has all possible qualities, musically it's very neat, lyrics are very beautiful, Toby Keith release an album that is pure pleasure to listen to. This is the kind of album where it’s stupid to detail the tracks, all the songs are successful, a beautiful work. Courtesy Of The Red, White And Blue (The Angry American) is worth buying the album, that's how it has become in some ways my favorite song, and I'm not talking about Good To Go To Mexico that perfectly blends the Mexican sound and Country Music, and also Beer For My Horses is a hymn. Ok I’ll stop because I could talk about this album for hours and hours. If you're a country fan then you should listen to this album, it's as simple as that. I don’t know actually if diamonds are eternals, but this album is for sure!

    Artist:  Hal Ketchum

    Album: One More Midnight

    Release Date: 24 April 2007

    Review:

A pleasant sweetness takes you while listening to this album, it’s full of beautiful ballads, so sweet and romantic. It's really a good album, so catchy, so personal. Impressive enough to give you the chills. The opus surprises me in 3 points, first for once Hal Ketchum didn’t write most of these songs, but given the quality we forgive him, secondly the artist offers us a tune (track 4) which lasts no less than 14minutes and 49 seconds (I counted), a quarter of an hour of pure happiness. Finally I still don’t understand why this album was released in the united kingdom before the USA, go figure ??? A perfect album, we don’t get bored, musically and textually it's perfect. In short with this album the artist hits the target, because it’s one of the best Country album that I have been given to listen. A beautiful piece, thank you again for such an album!

And yet here is a new CD and we won’t complain when it comes to Toby Keith, will we? If I find it a little less good that the previous one, this remains Toby Keith, so for those who didn’t understand, this is a very good country album. It’s a little less rhythmic for my taste, but the melodies are there, Note to Self, Hell no. And I can’t forget the track Get Drunk and Be Somebody who’ll make you have a great time (this has nothing to do with the title). In short an album to have in your collection!

    Album : Raising Sand

    Release Date : 23 october 2007

    Review :

The queen of bluegrass returns with an album recorded entirely in duet with Robert Plant. We therefore expect a good CD in perspective, and there, the fall hurts. The voices are beautiful, but the music won’t receive any rate, they are monotonous, slow, too slow. Tracks succeed and monotony sets in, everything looks the same. What a disappointment! ! ! I al falling asleep, Alison Krauss has accustomed us to so much better. This CD is like a mistake, a journey to somewhere I don’t understand. We expect her to release soon a new opus os we can forget this one. Don’t look for Union Station, they are simply not present and it suffers.

What an album! everything fits together perfectly in this bluegrass album, from rhythmic tracks to slower songs, it's just wonderful. Musically it's perfect, Alison Krauss and Union Station show us what they can do, that’s true bluegrass, music that combines instruments, voices, all on beautiful melodies. If all the songs are very beautiful, Blue Trail of Sorrow has an a+, No Place To Hide, Deeper Than Crying. In short, if you like this music style or want to find out, a must-have!
