This Is Country MusicArtist: Brad Paisley

    Album: This Is Country Music

    Release Date: 23 May 2011

    Review:

A new album of Brad Paisley is always an event in the world of country music. This great composer, singer and guitarist always set the bar very high. And here it’s again surprising. So many good songs, a musical level that impresses, harmonies breathtaking, lyrics that puzzle, in brief Brad has struck again. We begin by This Is Country Music who is annoying, how to make a song about what you aren’t suppose to sing in music?, But he dares. Followed by A Man Don't Have To Die, Old Alabama (with Alabama), Remind Me, all very good. The last duet with Carrie Underwood give you chills. One of Those Lives addresses a topic that is typical of Brad, do ’t complain even if you feel like it. And believe me, he is the only able to sing with such a beautiful way. He impresses us on the excellent Working On A Tan, music and voices are superb. Then we have a dose of romance with Love Her Like She's Leavin' (avec Don Henley), Toothbrush and Be the Lake. All tracks fit perfectly well and are very good, a real treat. We finish the album like it’s started, with a very good Life's Railway To Heaven (with Marty Stuart, Sheryl Crow and Carl Jackson). This song offers us a spiritual side with magical vocal harmonies. Short but good, go buy it, you won’t regret anything!.

    Hits AliveArtist : Brad Paisley

    Album: Hits Alive

    Release Date: 02 November 2010

    Review:

This album is quite mixed. Indeed, the music is perfect for the first CD since it’s a new compilation of Brad, so obviously ... but the previous one was more successful. After this second opus presents us some lives, because I must admit that apart from the beginning and the end, all was necessarily remixed. Personally I love this singer but I don’t understand first, what it brings to his discography, and also why not released a live album?. In short, perhaps his record label is to blame for this opus. If you want to find out who this singer is, you may be tempted to buy this album, if not prefer his previous Playlist.

The Band PerryArtist : Band Perry

    Album: The Band Perry

    Release Date: 12 October 2010

    Review:

The least we can say is that this album was expected. Two brothers, a sister, all pretty well put together, but what was it going to be? Already we can’t help comparing the group to Taylor Swift, or if you prefer their lead singer. Especially on tracks as Hip to My Heart, If I Die Young. In fact we start with a powerful You lie then the other two compositions mentioned higher, then back down a notch. Sure the album is not bad either, it’s very nice. It's just that we fell lost. We find a powerful sound on Independence and Quittin' You. The whole rests rather on the singer’s voice, who is nice without being beautiful. Everything is very country pop but we love it. They remind me of Lady Antebellum or Little Big Town, with a sound more pop. So if I am not hook, I can’t deny a certain interest in their music. I have to wait their CD to see if with a little more maturity, they’ll have more freedom as a band without imitate others.

    American Saturday NightArtist: Brad Paisley

    Album: American Saturday Night

    Release Date: 30 June 2009

    Review:

A more personal album than usual, 14 tracks written by the artist himself. Among the American hymns Saturday Night and Welcome To The Future, Brad gives us a surprising synth addition and touching words about his childhood, the evolution of the US. We always find the magic that is his charm, a powerful sound, a sublime Water with solos that take you off. In short ,yet an album in the tradition of his predecessors, not a single false note, Brad is once again at the rendezvous. We love tracks like Anything Like Me and No where the artist opens up and reveals a little more than usual. We are always surprised by these albums and we always ask for more and this singer continues to make us happy while matching our expectations. If you like country music, the album is for you.

    Brad Paisley ChristmasArtist: Brad Paisley

    Album: Brad Paisley Christmas

    Release Date: 10 October 2006

    Review:

The least we can say it’s that this Christmas album comes off the lot with its originality, at the same time when it comes to Brad Paisley, we should have known. Far from simply take the classics and put them to its style, he offers us his own compositions including one he composed at 13 years old, Born On Christmas Day. This album is a mix of classic Christmas songs with a Brad Paisley contemporary inspiration. A rich album in style and very neat. Between the very western swing Winter Wonderland, the cover of Buck Owens with Santa Looked A Lot Like Daddy that is very successful in offering us a powerful sound while marveling us with his guitar playing. All the musical talent is expressed in Penguin, James Penguin and Jingle Bells  which are real sublime. We also like Silent Night and we find once again his humorous touch with Kung Pao Buckaroo Holiday, where the artist uses his friends George Jones, Bill Anderson, and "Little" Jimmy Dickens. This album’ll be placed just after Toby Keith’s, that’s the quality.

Who Needs Pictures Artist: Brad Paisley

    Album: Who Needs Pictures

    Release Date: 1 June 1999

    Review:

An original album that was already suggestive of a good future for this singer. Between the very good Me Neither and He Didn't Have to Be with great lyrics, we understand immediately that this artist stands out. It Never Woulda Worked Out Anyway pleasantly surprises us. Brad gets to sing in a traditional way with a loud sound, it’s a great album straight out of Nashville. If some tracks are similar and we would have liked a bit more pace, it remains a very good album. A real talent on the guitar with a voice that stand out, everything seemed to promise already a bright future for the artist, if you're a fan or simply love good country music, no doubt that you’ll take pleasure in discovering this album.

    Time Well WastedArtist: Brad Paisley

    Album: Time Well Wasted

    Release Date: 16 August 2005

    Review:

It’s always with joy that we discover a Brad Paisley album, this fourth CD is still in line with what we were used to, a loud, impressive solos, a beautiful voice and instrumental parts are magnificent. When you know he wrote almost all the lyrics and this CD is full of hilarious bonus, it even becomes annoying. But hey what do you want with this artist, we are always surprised and in the right way. From the start, we are hook w the superb The World, then Alcohol and its lyrics who left us speechless. Waitin' On A Woman is amazing, no doubt that Brad romantic side ‘ll hit the target with the ladies. She's Everything is musically splendid and his words are beautiful. That's when we came across a rather unexpected duo on the musical style of Out In The Parkin 'Lot with none other that Alan Jackson. Here we think that we have heard everything, but not at all, another duet this time with Dolly Parton, When I Get Where on I'm Going is a spiritual beauty. I let you discover some surprises present at the end of the album, but in any case the artist has once again confirmed that he is a great country singer. What can I say ?, he has become one of those who amazes us with each new release and one wonders if he has a limit, perhaps the sky and yet you say, I start to wonder about that.

    5th Gear Artist: Brad Paisley

    Album: 5th Gear

    Release Date: 8 April 2008

    Review:

So then I say hats off, after four albums that were most successful, we got an earful. He still improve his level, as if it was natural and always possible for him to do better. We have a great start with All I Wanted Was A Car and Ticks. But in fact when we think that we have reached the cruising speed, we increase in power throughout the opus. With Online is a gentle satire of people who live behind a screen, internet, we are overwhelmed. The end of Fanfare is interesting. A rich and varied CD, it’s the least we can say, but it's not over yet. Mr. Policeman's fun and allows us to contemplate his incredible talent, his musical speed on guitar, a powerful sound. Then it’s guests time, and they are many of them and they have great qualities, between a good duet with Carrie Underwood on Oh Love, a small exquisite intro followed by two more traks with friends such as Jimmy Dickens, George Jones, Vince Gill, and Bill Anderson, Dolly Parton on Bigger Fish To Fry and When We All Get To Heaven. This tune’ll appeal to Christian music fans. Finally when we think it’s over, we have the track Throttleneck who is musically stunning and gives us a purely musical slap, all his knowledge is expressed, it’s a miracle, it’s simply Brad Paisley at his best. There are also two small hidden bonus which are rather funny moments with his friends during recording, but with this opus, Brad proves that it’s not only one of the best guitarists in the world, but also one of the best entertainer. You'll understand the album is splendid.

    Big TimeArtist:  Kyle Park

    Album: Big Time

    Release Date: 10 April 2007

    Review:

First CD for the young singer. From the beginning the tone is new country, fast melodies, a catchy voice. Everything is dotted with some nice ballads, a little slower allowing to lower the pace. If tracks like Somebody's Trying to Steal My Heart, For All the Wrong Reasons are quite successful, we are really surprised by this debut album. What strikes me the most is his voice that fits perfectly with the music style, if Big Time is not the album of the year, it’ll make you had fun and you‘ll discover a new artist, unknown here in France. We wait for the next.

    Album: Thankful

    Release Date: 2 September 2008

    Review:

If the previous album didn’t really convince me, this last one made me changed my mind. Over worked, neat, the album surprises us from the start. How Do I Get There, Hell Bent for Buffalo’ll make you tap your feet, and the ballads Nothing but Us and Undeniable are very successful. A good sound for this Canadian, which produces us a much more original album than the previous one. Although this isn’t the album of the year, it’s still a good surprise from Canada.

    Play

    Album: Play

    Release Date: 04 November 2008

    Review:

Brad Paisley will never cease to amaze me, making better he gives us a pure masterpiece at all levels. He has  the luxury of offering us many musical pieces of extreme beauty such as Huckleberry Jam or Turf’s Up but also three sumptuous duets, Start A Band (with Keith Urban), Come On In (with Buck Owens), Let The Good Times Roll (with BB King). It’s indeed masterpieces. His way of playing and singing is a pure which is stunning, impressive. Brad impresses us with his talent to handle and interpret such diverse styles, so rich, he is an artist who'll never bored you. This album promises to be a must-have.

    Big WheelArtist: Aaron Pritchett

    Album: Big Wheel

    Release Date: 24 April 2006

    Review:

Having started as a DJ in a Country club in his native British Columbia, this Canadian used to independent circuit, known small successes in his country. This album offers us some good songs like Big Wheel and Weight. But tracks as Drivin' Song, Lonely's To The Bone, all lack of convincing. However the promising song Hold My Beer is even a disappointment. Certainly the album is not bad, the music and the artist’s voice are quite pleasant to listen to, but it’s far from transcending the opus. This album gives us the opportunity to know an artist who rises in Canada, and now a little more in the US, with an interesting potential, just waiting for a CD a bit more mature, but Canada has booked pleasant surprises in terms of country artists. So be patient.

    Album: Christmas Duets

    Release Date: 14 October 2008

    Review:

No, you aren’t dreaming, Elvis leaves us a duet album with the best singers of current country, thanks to technology, of course. If the king is unfortunately no longer, the studios were able to find some bands and mix all with singers of today. The result is stunning, we don’t see a difference, you'd think the King is there, it’s a real Christmas present.

     Kellie Pickler

    Artist : Kellie Pickler

    Album: Kellie Pickler

    Release Date: 30 September 2008

    Review:

I was waiting for the second album of the beautiful Miss Pickler a long time ago and here it’s. I know I know Kellie is unfortunately the pretty ravishing blonde’s typical stereotype. Her transition to reality TV, where she fought with a 12 year old didn’t help, not knowing that France was a country, but that Europe was a country where people speak English, it doesn’t help. Except that for her, Paris is the capital of Hungary or Bulgaria I believe. But let’s move on. The beautiful discovered by American Idol, offer us good hits like I'm Your Woman, Rocks Instead Of Rice, One Last Time. But all sounds a bit too pop for my taste and not country, plus something is missing to stand out from others because this year was particularly rich with pretty girls, Jessica Simpson, Heidi Newfield. The competition’ll be increasingly difficult. Yet a feeling of tenderness takes you, if only she could find her style, but no, not this time. Don’t put me wrong, I enjoyed listening to but I don’t know if I’ll listen it again. Maybe it’s not as good as Miranda Lambert and Sugarland, But we feel that she can do much better than this album, she just need to found her own style. So I wait for the this one.

     Once upon a christmas

Artist : Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers

    Album: Once upon a christmas

    Release Date: 26 March 2002 (1st release : 1984)

    Review:

Since we are during Christmas time, we get a bunch of albums and of course some are directly related to the holidays. The album comes straight from the 80s, at least in the mid-80s and this can be notice. And that’s the problem, because I admit that I have trouble, let’s say the music is pleasant to listen to but it’s quite outdated. Apart from Once Upon a Christmas that I had pleasure to listen, I won’t advise it for Christmas , you should go for the last Faith Hill, Joy to the World or even the Classic Christmas by Toby Keith and there you will be spoiled.

    Anywhere in Texas

    Artist : Kyle Park

    Album: Anywhere In Texas

    Release Date: 16 September 2008

    Review:

    Review:

Imagine an album composed by Dolly Parton’s greatest hits. 20 songs. Now it’s done you have in front of you. Of course we could talk about the songs, there are so many of them who are missing, but at the same time, an album of 20 songs is still really nice to listen. We love the immortal songs like Joshua, Tennessee Homesick Blues, Why'd You Come In Here Lookin' Like That, Jolene, I Will Always Love You. We want more. Ah this Dolly she never disappoints us.

    Mud on the Tires

    Artist:  Brad Paisley

    Album: Mud On The Tires

    Release Date: 22 July 2003

    Review:

For those who don’t know yet, this is a real country singer. Already the album features no less than 17 tracks, which is good for your money, the lyrics are beautifully written and the music is sumptuous. Brad Paisley, know how to sing and play country and with this album, he shows us. His voice is perfect, the instrumental solos are beautiful with Make A Mistake, we enjoy Ain't Nothin' Like, Whiskey Lullaby (with Alison Krauss), The Best Thing That I Had Goin’, Is It Raining At Your House, Spaghetti Western Swing (with Redd Volkaert). The last track, Farther Along, we let him go on a religious note and the bonus track’ll make you smile. Certainly everything isn’t rock, it’s slow most of the time, but it's really a very good country album, if you didn’t already buy it, please don’t miss it, because this album is simply a treat for the ears and a cure for all ills!

    Album: Small Town Girl

    Release Date: 31 October 2006

    Review:

Another American Idol contestant, which released an album, this is a little commercial but good. If this isn’t like Miss Lambert, this album is a good test. She has a nice voice but we can’t find a distinctive sign, she can’t stand out from another artist. Although she lacks of maturity, the album is a bit repetitive. Some songs are welcome as Red High Heels, Small Town Girl, Girls Like Me and the beautiful ballad: Didn't You Know How Much I Loved You. A CD to listen to from time to time.

    Release Date : 06 February 2008

    Review :

Here is the beginning of the year that starts well, new CDs coming to us in large numbers. And this time, it’s Dolly Parton’s last album. An artist who is quite popular admittedly. This CD is a reflection of that, she has nothing more to prove. The styles, she can sing everything, she is one of those artists who can adapt, playing real music; whether it’s new compositions, or a beautiful cover song, such as Drives Me Crazy. Good tracks like Backwoods Barbie, Better Get To Livin ', Cologne. Jesus & Gravity’ll please Christian music fans, blues fans can listen to The Lonesome's, in short a good varied album.
